I am Meredith Barlow-Walsh and work in part-time private practice as a counsellor and psychotherapist in the South Manchester/Macclesfield area. Stockport, Marple, New Mills, Furness Vale, Buxton, Macclesfield, Tytherington, Alderley Edge, Prestbury, Wilmslow, Handforth, Poynton, Cheadle Hulme, Bramhall, Hazel Grove, Adlington, Rainow and Kettleshulme are all an easy commute to my practice at less than 10 miles away.
After leaving university with a BSc honours degree in Psychology and subsequently working in the advertising, marketing and PR industry for over 15 years I began studying and training as a counsellor and psychotherapist in 2005. Since then I have qualified as a Counsellor gaining a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling as well as completing 4 years training in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy and am currently working towards BACP accreditation as well as my Certified Transactional Analyst qualification, I also hold a Certificate in Counselling, I am married and have three children.
I have previous experience of working therapeutically with adults at Stockport Womens Centre (www.thewomenscentre.uk.net), with primary school children at The Place2Be (www.place2be.org.uk) and currently I support young people aged 12-25 at Just Drop-In, Macclesfield www.justdropin.co.uk .
